Review:

I got this book and I read the inside cover and thought this would be a good book. I loved the theme of it, which is that a young gay student gets beaten and his friend is trying to figure out who did it. I thought this would be a great book. Well, my thoughts were way off. It was a major slow read. I couldn't even finish the book. I have read other books by Lauren Myracle, who is the author, and i can truly say this was my least favorite of hers.

I always make myself read the first 100 pages and with this book is was a difficult thing to do. I would give it only 2 stars out of 10.

But Felicity needs Derek's help. Gideon is getting coded letters from Felicity's parents, and she's sure they're in trouble. Can Felicity crack the code, heal the family and save her parents, all while surviving her first crush? It's a tall order, but - like THE SECRET GARDEN'S Mary Lennox before her - Felicity's up for the challenge.

My Views:

This book was a great read, It is not only a love story but also a historic reference. It is dealing with WW2, which was an important part of history. The main character, Felicity, or Flissy as they call her in the book, is a strong and independent girl at the age of 11. Moving in with her uncle, aunt and grandmother, who she has never meet. Her parents think is the right thing to do, since Felicity is in danger in London. She meets Captain Derek and devolves a crush on him. Felicity and Derek have many adventures and learn many things that Felicity has never conceder.

I give this book an 8 out of 10 stars. Evenhough, the age on the book is 8-12, many teens and hopeless romantics and people who love WW2, would love this book.
